Do you know what valance sheets are? Not many people do and they aren't anywhere near as popular as they once were. They aren't the types of things that are shown in show homes on TV. While they may not be at the top of most people's shopping list their practical nature can't be disputed.

You may have heard valance sheets also being named bed skirts and dust ruffles. They cover the bottom of the bed, i.e. from the floot to the mattress. You might have seen them in a hotel you have stayed in or a bed and breakfast.

One of the reasons that they get used in hotels is for their practical uses. The dust won't find its way under the bed and that is why they get the dust ruffle name. You don't have the hoover and clean underneath the bed as often which is good news. Many hotels do this because it makes cleaning the room so much quicker. There is a way that you too can benefit from this.

Not only can you keep your room cleaner, you will be able to keep it looking tidier as well. Many of us have accumulated a lot of possessions in our lives and we run out of places to put it all. We often put things under our beds in the need of space but that can look ugly. Your valance sheets can hide your items under your bed. Your room will instantly look tidier.

Putting some valance sheets around the bed will really be felt in the room. Then when you have one, if you change it you will change the feel of the room. It is really easy to change to feel and the appearance of the room…no need to expensive makeovers... just change your sheets!
